Abstract:

Fuel pollutions in the ground and aquiferous layer are direct reason of hazard for peopleand environment.“INSTALcompakt” Ltd proposes SSU System which recovers free-floating fuel leaving thewater behind. The SSU system recovers gasoline and oil off the ground water in well casingsas small as two inches in diameter. It can be used in underground vaults, lagoons and oil/waterseparation tanks. It can also be used near petrol stations, airports, chemical factories etc, everywhere, where there is the possibility of soil pollution by fuel and oils. The SSU RecoveryUnits float on the fluid in the well casings, following the fluctuations in the ground water level.Only oils and gasoline enter the recovery unit to be pumped to a recovery tank while the groundwater remains untreated in the well. The system is capable of removing an oil slick up to 2mm thick.Compressed air is used to power the pumps so no electrical connections are placed in thewell casing. The passage of compressed air to the fuel removal pump is regulated by an SSUAll-Air Control Station.
