The photo depicts a young woman, a young man and a small boy. The woman and the boy are sitting in chairs; the man is standing behind the boy. The photo was taken in a photographic studio. The woman is dressed in a white blouse, a dark skirt and high laced boots; the man is in a Russian-style white shirt tied with a belt -"rubaszka"; the boy is dressed in a shirt and short trousers. What draws attention is the fact that he has no shoes and has bare feet. The boy is holding a book in his hand. According to the photo's owner, it comes from the area of Ukraine and depicts her grandmother's family. At the back there is an inscription in Russian: "[Posyłaju Wam na wiecznuju pamjat]" (rest illegible) ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
