The photo shows a tall woman and a man in wedding clothes. The woman is wearing a very elegant, white, embroidered dress with a train and mandarin collar. On her head she has a vail with a large bow and she is clutching a bunch of light-coloured roses. The man is wearing a black frock-coat with a bow pinned into the lapel, a white shirt with a tall stiff collar and holding a top hat in his hand. They are both wearing white gloves. The woman is much higher than the man. The photo was taken in a photographer’s parlour ; According to the owner of the photo, it shows her grandparents Leokadia (...) and Stanisław (...), the owner of the bakery, on the day of their wedding (07.11.1911). Despite the fact that they were forced to marry each other by their parents and the owner’s grandmother had to give up her love to a simple baker, it was a successful and even a happy marrige ; November 7, 1911 ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
