The authors strived to%C2%A0present the impact of demographic conditions upon the network of schools in this strongly depopulating region and identify to%C2%A0what extend trends among population limit the accessibility to%C2%A0after%5C-school activities for children and adolescents. The aim of this paper is to%C2%A0present the location and accessibility of primary education institutions in Miech%C3%B3w district and also to%C2%A0assessthe organization of after%5C-school activities which is a%C2%A0major factor in ensuring equal opportunities of education among children and adolescents. In the Ma%C5%82opolskie Voivodship 143 %5C(12.3%25%5C) primary schools were liquidated over the years 2000%E2%80%932012 and these include mainly small%2Cruralschoolsin agricultural areas. The number of pupils attending primary schools decreased even more. The authors attempted to%C2%A0 determine essential information about children%27s travel to%C2%A0schools such as%5C: residence place of children that are brought to%C2%A0particular schools%2C the average time of reaching school from where they live and the means of transport that a%C2%A0child chooses to%C2%A0reach the school. In 2008 the location of primary schools in the area of Miech%C3%B3w district allowed for relatively good accessibility within its borders. However%2C during the years 2008%E2%80%932014 the spatial accessibility greatly decreased as a%C2%A0result of many institutions being closed down. The average time a%C2%A0child needs to%C2%A0reach school extended by%C2%A020%25 in the whole discussed area. The highest increase was observed in Koz%C5%82%C3%B3w commune%2C in which the time extended by%C2%A046%25 %5C(to%C2%A03%2C4 minutes%5C) and where 5 primary schools were liquidated.%22]
