Due to these adverse conditions%2C this part of the Sudetes Mountains %E2%80%93 despite attempts for its stimulation %5C- was classified by many researchers as a problem area. However%2C in the recent years the tendencies of population change in the region have diversified. Apart from the still ongoing depopulation processes%2C phenomenon of %E2%80%9Cvillages revival%E2%80%9D has also been identified in the case of several villages previously recognized as becoming depopulated. This recent trend is caused by the inflow of the new residents mainly from urban areas. In many cases the new residents are undertaking economic activity%2C contributing to transformation of functional character of villages.%22]
