 abstract={The aim of this article is to assess the impact of the Common Agricultural Policy instruments on individual farms in the Opolskie Voivodship. The research was based on a survey conducted among farmers. The objective was to determine the socio-economic transformation, which in the opinion of farmers occurred in rural areas of the Opolskie Voivodship after Poland’s accession to the European Union. The survey embraced 383 individual farmstead managers with farm size ranging from 2 to 30 ha. The results show i.a. the impact of EU regulations on farmers’ situation, but also their attitude towards them. Farmers appreciate the EU support, however they are mostly focused on direct payments and the related increase in income. They rarely take advantage from other forms of support, for example training and consulting. Moreover, farm owners not often apply for modernization funds for farmsteads, especially if case of small sized farms.},
