The study analyzes organizational structure, research directions, staffing, publication activity, and participation in research projects and scientific bodies. The findings indicate a growing thematic distinctiveness of geography in Poland’s science system and an ongoing trend of disciplinary fragmentation. Notable developments include the dynamic advancement of research methods (especially GIS), a rising number of publications in international journals, and growing significance of applied research. Polish geographers are also becoming more active in international scientific organizations. The article concludes with a call for reintegration of the discipline through methodologically grounded, synthetic research.}, type={Text}, title={Diagnoza stanu geografii w Polsce w drugiej dekadzie XXI w. = The state of geography in Poland: A diagnosis for the second decade of the 21st century}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/igipz/Content/247820/WA51_284494_r2025-t97-z4_Przeg-Geogr-Kostrzew.pdf}, keywords={geography in Poland, science system, geographical centers, staff structure, research directions}, }
