Abstract:

Les principaux objets qui ont servi à établir cette chrono-typologie ont été recueillis dans des fouilles stratigraphiques en Alsace. Les couvercles sont assez rares avant le XIIIe siècle et les plus anciens sont polyvalents, sont utilizes pour plusieurs récipients. Au fur et à mesure que la fonction des vases se spécialise, chacun reçoit son propre couvercle. La technique de fabrication s’adapte à l’augmentation quantitative: d’abord objet décoratif (ou du moins décoré), modelé avec soin, il devient un accessoire fabriqué rapidement au tour
