The transformation and adaptation of natural landscape forms (e.g. kames, erosion rem¬nants after glacial plateaus, drumlins, etc.) so far has not been studied in detail and analyzed by archaeologists, geomorphologists and geologists, although it is an issue of primary significance for archaeological interpretations of the medieval settlement expansion and diversification, as well as for developing geoarchaeological methods of distinguishing objects and landforms entirely created by humans from those that were only adapted
