Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The photo shows several men, participants of the rites of Vachchada dada. It takes place in a small temple dedicated to the deity and built in the field near the village of Kotra. Once a year, one of the shepherds kachchi rabari lineages organize this ritual, giving the names of all children born within one year of the previous ceremony. Guests at the wedding ceremony kachchi rabari. Ritual differently than the other at night take place during the day (Kartik Sud, first Monday). The participants are dressed in festive clothes traditionally in white turbans on their heads are in color black-purple in patterns - a sign of belonging to a group kachchi rabari. Men sing religious songs
