Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The shrine dedicated to Vachchada dada male deity before the night ceremonies connected with the singing and dancing of the kachchi rabari shepherds. The image shows the lower part of the wooden figures depicting a rider on horseback. Fire burns next to the incense and sacrifice - brown molasses and white sugar – laid down by the faithful. Every day the shrine is closed, here the door is open. On the threshold is an iron chain (hangar) used during the ceremony. Some of the participants in a state of ecstasy hit themselves on the back with this chain. On the right of the chain is also visible part of the metal dish, with chunks of coconut – sacrifice for a deity. These are elements of Hindu folk ceremonies
