Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). In the picture you can see a figure of geometric shapes on the wall of the house. At the top, figures of elephants, and at the bottom five smaller human figures and two more figures of girls. These figures are made from the dried manure and colored paper. It is a fragment of sanjhi rite done by unmarried girls. For a few days in the month (the dark side of the lunar month just before the start of the monsoon rainy season) they stick all kinds of patterns and images on the walls of houses, and on the last day they carry earthen images and sacrifice of food on the banks of the river and throw them into the water
