Description:

The photo depicts ewes/rams eating from troughs, two men patting a sheep and three men standing behind them. In the background there is a timber cottage, further away mountain pastures and a forest. The men in the foreground are elegantly dressed – in jackets, jack boots, white shirts and ties. The men behind them are wearing everyday outfits – country work clothes and hats. According to the photo's owner, it depicts an inspection of sheep in Gołkowice and two inspectors (…) from Kraków ; 1934, Gołkowice ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
