Description:

Zespół fotografii zrobionych we wsiach w stanie Maharszta.

Photo (scan from slide). Rural landscape. The villagers of Devgaon cultivate rice and raise animals. In the photo, a man is taking a sap from a palm tree. The trees are pressed and left for a few days, after which the drained sap is collected. Palm wine is made from this juice. Warli eat them during holidays and free time. In the photo, the man is using a chisel and a juice jug hangs on the tree. A thick rope hangs over his shoulder, which he uses to climb tall trees.
