Description:

The photo depicts a family with a child: a woman dressed in a dark blouse with puffed sleeves and a wide flower-patterned skirt (a regional costume?) is sitting in a chair, behind her there is a man in a dark suit with a 1,5 or 2- year-old child in dress with frills sitting on a decorative stool. Underneath the photo there is the following inscription: “A family photo: in the photo the brother of my father Emmanuel (…) Józef (…) – a miner from the village of Kokoszyce, a worker of KWK [pit-coal mine] “Anna” in Pszów, with his wife Joanna and son Emanuel in 1920. The photo was taken by Otto Schwittay studio, Rybnik-Wodzisław” ; 1921, Kokoszyce / Rybnik-Wodzisław ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
