Kostrzewski and his assistant in organising the 1934%E2%80%931939 archaeological excavation of the Early Iron Age fortified lake village of the Lusatian Culture in Biskupin. After the Second World War%2C Z.A. Rajewski continued to excavate at Biskupin and%2C starting from 1949%2C was also actively involved in running the national Millennium programme of research on the origins of the Polish statehood.
