A team of researchers directed by Dr Eike Gringmuth-Dallmer of the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin proposed to investigate the issue on the example of the lower and middle Oder River basin. On behalf of the Polish side the program was coordinated by the Wroclaw branch of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. With interdisciplinary research as a general assumption, archaeological and natural sciences investigations were undertaken in conjunction with processing of earlier source material, including especially botanical and osteological remains, and importantly palinological analyses. The results of work over a six-year period, from 1994 to 1999, were presented in a collective publication Forschungen zu Mensch und Umwelt im Odergebiet in ur- und frühgeschichtlicher Zeit (Mainz am Rhein 2002). The investigations verified many older opinions concerning anthropogenic change in the natural environment of the Oder River basin from the final Paleolithic to the Middle Ages; they also expanded substantially the source database. The Oder Project is proof that it is essential to consider river function in a broader environmental context, taking into account all the interactions and transformations taking place in the natural and cultural landscapes M3 - Text J2 - Archaeologia Polona Vol. 43 (2005) PY - 2005 EP - 156 KW - man KW - environment KW - Oder KW - prehistory KW - Middle Ages A1 - Leciejewicz, Lech (1931–2011) PB - Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology Polish Academy of Sciences VL - 43 CY - Warszawa SP - 143 T1 - Man and environment on the Oder river in prehistoric and early historic times: Polish-German research project UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/77269 ER - TY - GEN N1 - 29 cm N2 - Inadequate levels of identification of glacial resources of raw materials in the Polish Lowlands areas and unreliable geological determinations of the assortment and frequency of local Fennoscandian erratics have established the opinion among archaeologists of alleged shortages in appropriate petrologically differentiated material necessary for stone industry in glacial areas. The claim has been made that raw material shortages were supplemented by massive imports of exogenous rocks from areas of their natural deposits. Yet a long study undertaken by the author on the Lowland inventory of erratics has proved that they constituted an extremely abundant and lithologically diversified source of raw materials. In the study, relatively large numbers of boulders and pebbles have been examined, regardless of their so-called indicating usefulness and with their appropriate overall measurements parameters taken into consideration. The exceptional abundance of local glacial ‘deposits’ effectively balanced the deficit n imported rock raw material for the local stone worker and inhibited the demand for imports L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/130382/PDF/WA308_99954_Methodical-Concepts_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - Between History and Archaeology : papers in honour of Jacek Lech PY - 2018 EP - 156 KW - Fennoscandian erratics KW - research methodology KW - the Polish Lowland KW - prehistoric stone industry A1 - Chachlikowski, Piotr A2 - Olszewski, Tomasz. The paper presents his achievements in field research on settlements and funerary sites in Central and Eastern Poland (cemeteries and settlements on the Nałęczów Plateau, settlement in Gródek in the Hrubieszów Basin) and thoughts on the methodology of searching and exploration of the Neolithic graves. In this text, the space and everyday life of the settlement have been described from two different perspectives. The first one is the perspective of a former resident of the town who from his personal memories and videotapes has constructed the image of the communist mini-utopia of the past. The second perspective belongs to the Efterklang band whose members have come to the ghost town to complete a musical project. Thus, juxtapositions presented in the contemporary documentary “The Ghost of Piramida” breed questions about space and time L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/60570/PDF/WA308_78953_P714_Duch-Piramidy_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - Journal of Urban Ethnology 13 (2015) PY - 2015 EP - 156 KW - Arctic KW - Efterklang KW - ghost town KW - working settlement KW - acoustic space KW - Pyramiden A1 - Czarnecka, Dominika PB - Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii PAN VL - 13 CY - Kraków SP - 147 T1 - „Duch Piramidy” : podróż w czasie i przestrzeni w kontekście sowieckiego osiedla górniczego w Arktyce UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/edition/60570 ER - TY - GEN N1 - 24 cm L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/61567/PDF/WA308_76975_P325_Wspolczesna-religijn_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - Etnografia Polska 53 Z. 1-2 (2009) PY - 2009 IS - 1-2 EP - 156 KW - Kurpie KW - contemporary religiosity KW - anthropological research A1 - Baraniecka-Olszewska, Kamila PB - Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk VL - 53 CY - Warszawa SP - 147 T1 - Współczesna religijność na Kurpiach UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/edition/61567 ER - TY - GEN N1 - 29 cm L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/60123/PDF/WA308_79810_PIII149_Die-Nadeln-im-Zentra_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - Przegląd Archeologiczny T. 53 (2005) PY - 2005 EP - 156 KW - Bronze Age-early Iron Age KW - central Balkans KW - Bronze Age-early Iron Age bronze pins A1 - Gralak, Tomasz PB - Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk VL - 53 CY - Wrocław SP - 155 T1 - Die Nadeln im Zentralbalkan, Rastko Vasić, Prähistorische Bronzefunde, Abteilung XIII, Band 11, Stuttgart 2003 : [recenzja] UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/edition/60123 ER - TY - GEN N1 - 24 cm N2 - The paper deals with sport (with the focus on winter sports) as a factor contributing to urban way of life and strengthening urban identity. It presents the case study of the city of Banská Bystrica, which has been building its marketing and identity primarily through sport and high participation of local inhabitants in mass sport activities, predominantly winter sports. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the role that sports played in urban identity formation in the period from the establishment of the first Czechoslovak Republic (1918) to the present day.
