In many cases of Central European hoards (deposits) and pouches, the glass beads found in their contents have been assumed to be commodity money. Attention was also drawn to glass beads used as .dead man’s coins. Which may have been surrogates of silver coins. Moreover, some researchers believe that in Kievan Rus glass bracelets could have functioned as commodity money. It is less certain whether glass rings had a monetary function. The possibility that glass beads had the function of commodity money makes it necessary to study the problem in greater depth and detail}, type={Text}, title={On glass serving as money in Medieval archaeological sources (selected examples)}, keywords={archaeology, Middle Ages, glass ornaments as commodity money}, }
