 abstract={The authors discuss the use of flood plains in the western part of the Sandomierz Basin by people of the Roman period in a more permanent way than just by occasional penetration. Such use is suggested by the results of recent archaeological research in the Vistula river valley to the east of Kraków and in the alluvial fan of the Raba river.
