The great significance of Gdańsk as a place of lively trade is proved by numerous and sometimes precious imports whose impressive territorial coverage reaches Bergen in Norway as well as Swedish Birka and Sigtuna in the North, Spain in the West, and Kiev, Byzantium and Baghdad in the East.}, type={Text}, title={Gdańsk – the origins of the medieval town and harbour.
