To some, the festival is an embodiment of all the evil, a great neo-pagan and Satanist holiday, a celebration from which everyone would do best to stay away. To others, it is a foreign custom, an American vogue and a focus for the entertainment industry; to still others, Halloween is a type of carnival festivity, devoid of any deeper meaning, yet attractive because of its form.
