 abstract={The article pertains to ethnopolitics in Central Asia illustrated with the example of two states, i.e.Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The author draws attention to the fact that anthropologists and political scientists are interested in two elements of ethnopolitics in the region: ethnopolitical organisms and processes. He emphasises that ethnopolitics in Central Asia is dominated by the nation-building process, stimulated by the formation of national statehood.
