 abstract={Jean-Claude Gardin has an important place in the history of archaeology as the creator of the concept of logicism. This was the effect of his reflections on the epistemological and social implications of archaeology. Gardin showed that through the investigation of the nature of the interpretations employed by archaeologists and the manner in which they are confronted with the use of empirical observations supplied by the use of the social sciences, it will be possible to overcome the epistemelogical constrictions on archaeological reasoning and create conditions for the publication of results of inves¬tigations through the medium of the Wordwide Web.
