 abstract={In the article, the city is described as an artistic object that can be an inspiration for a responsive individual and therefore may initiate the creation of new works of art. The biographical method and analysis of both the literature of a personal document and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz’s literary works enabled the author to de-fine a new concept – a creative experience of a city. Being in contact with the city (in one’s imagination as well as in reality) becomes an affective cultural experience initiating the creation of new works of art and enabling the assignation of a value to human existence.},
