 abstract={The period of King Sigismund the Old and Queen Bona has until now been the least researched phase in the history of the royal residence in Łobzów near Cracow. In the article, the spatial arrangement of the complex is reconstructed, the service program of the structures forming its parts is analysed, and construction works completed at the time are discussed based on an inventory compiled in 1558, financial records of regality land overseers and iconographic sources. The key buildings of the complex were the ancien Casimir Tower and a residential building in the orchard, which so far has not been mentioned in specialist literature; in addition, there was a bath-house, a carriage house, stables, a bakery and a granary; a menagerie was located in the close vicinity of the fenced complex. In the article, it has been demonstrated that owing to modernisation works carried out in the first half of the 16th century, the old medieval dwelling became a summer residence in the suburbana type, much prized by the Jagiellonian monarchs.},
