Abstract:
The aim of this article is to present the characteristics of aviation modeling as an element of education in primary and secondary schools in the Second Polish Republic. To achieve this goal, an analysis of source texts from the Second Polish Republic was conducted. The introduction of aviation modeling into primary and secondary schools was the result of various factors, including the increased interest in manual work among educators and the dynamic development of aviation and aviation technology during the interwar period. From the mid-1930s, it became a mandatory part of the manual labor curriculum and was also a form of extracurricular activity. Aviation modeling provided an opportunity for students to develop a range of positive character traits and skills, as well as to expand their theoretical knowledge. It was also a means of achieving the goals of civic education. Teachers played a crucial role in conducting modeling activities during manual labor classes and beyond. Their success in achieving these goals depended on their knowledge, technical and pedagogical skills, and interest in aviation. They were prepared for their tasks through regular courses organized by the Air Defense and AntiGas League and the State Institute of Manual Work.
