The article is a contribution to documenting the work of academic teachers. It aims to present the scientific, organizational and teaching activities concerning teacher education methods applied within the university course in art education at the Institute of Art Education at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. The analysis covers the 1970s. That decade marked the beginning of using such methodology that coincided with the activity of Jerzy Cynke-Widalis. The biographies of employees involved in artistic and methodological education were reconstructed. The background of the historical institutional education of teachers at UMCS was outlined. The article applies methodology used in historical, biographical and pedagogical studies.
