W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad dostępnością do usług medycznych, kulturalnych i rekreacyjno-sportowych w opinii seniorów, tj. osób w wieku 60+. Źródłem danych dotyczących częstotliwości korzystania z ww. usług oraz oceny organizacyjnego wymiaru dostępności jest reprezentatywne badanie przeprowadzone metodą CATI na grupie 900 mieszkańców Polski w 10 typach funkcjonalnych gmin. Badanie wykazało, że częstotliwość korzystania z usług medycznych zależy od miejsca zamieszkania tj. od typu funkcjonalnego gminy (większa częstotliwość na obszarach centralnych, mniejsza na peryferyjnych). Na częstotliwość wpływa również poziom centralizacji danej usługi. Usługi medyczne, z których korzystają seniorzy, najczęściej zlokalizowane są w gminie zamieszkania. Z usług kulturalnych seniorzy korzystają rzadko, a prawie wcale z usług sportowo-rekreacyjnych. Respondenci pozytywnie ocenili organizacyjny wymiar dostępności do usług medycznych, najwyżej – do tych funkcjonujących na zasadach rynkowych (np. apteki) – a najgorzej oceniono dostępność do lekarzy POZ innych niż lekarze pierwszego kontaktu.
