Abstract:

The authors summarize data on dragonflies of the Sandomierz Basin – the largest of the Polish Subcarpathian basins. New materials from 78 sites are analysed as well as information derived from 64 publications and the socalled grey literature. Data on the occurrence of 68 species (92% of the national fauna) were compiled and commented, of which 67 have been contemporary found. The state of knowledge of individual areas of the region and its role in the protection of dragonflies was evaluated. The most urgent research needs and optimal directions for further research were given.
