The photo (scan from the slide) shows the road leading to the Kedarnath Temple in the Himalayas. Below you can see residential buildings and streets in this settlement. Kedarnath is located at the end of one of the roads in the Himalayas leading north. There are no more inhabited places, and there are paths on which only ascetics walk.
