Hybrydy pierwszego pokolenia F1 Peromyscus maniculatus i P. polionotus krzyżowano wstecznie w kierunku P. maniculatus (Tabela 1, Ryc. 1). Badano metodą elektroforezy żelowej, u rodziców i potomstwa, hemoglobinę, albuminy w surowicy, transferynę, leucyno-amino-peptydazę, i esterazy: esterazę nerek i dehydrogenazę alkoholową oraz dehydrogenazę kwasu jabłkowego z wątroby (Tabela 2, 3, Ryc. 2-9).
