Description:

Small mammals were snap-trapped on an octagon-shaped line transect 176 m on a side located in a lowland mesic-hardwood forest in the Southeastern United States. Two traps were set at each of 128 stations and 52 Ochrotomys nutalli, 38 Peromyscus gossypinus, and 18 Blarina brevicauda were removed during 28-day period. Differential removal rates for three species were observed.
