Description:

Small mammals were live-trapped for 16 months on 12X12 study grid (1.2 ha) located in a subalpine forest on the Eastern Slope of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 3,120 m. Snow covered the ground for 7 and 1/2 months of the year. Subnivean activity of Clethrionomys gapperi and Peromyscus maniculatus was monitored by use of live-traps located within trap chimneys.
