Summit area dominated by mossy knarled forest of Bubbia howeana-Lepidorrhach mooreana-Dracophyllum fitzgeraldii-Hedyscepe canterburyana with upper slopes of Meterosideros nervulosa. Melaleuca howeana, and cassinia tenuifolia. Lower slopes and the Erskine Valley of closed rain forest of Dryopetes and Cryptocarya. basalt rock exposed on higher slopes
