Abstrakt:

Histological diagnosis: Sarcomatosis? Microgliomatosis.Autopsy examination of 19-month-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson’s method. The macroscopically described tumor tissue consisted of a conglomerate of perivascular infiltrates, circular hemorrhages, and locally solid arrangements of tumor cells protruding from the meninges between the gyri. The primary component was large round cells with foam-like protoplasm, resembling macrophages, multinucleated, often with hyperchromatic nuclei, in addition to small round hyperchromatic cells and endothelial-like cells. They formed very large collars around the vessels, sharply demarcated from the tissue. The border line between tumor and brain tissue was well defined everywhere. Numerous mitotic cells were observed.
