Histological diagnosis: Aneurysma. Haemorrhagia et malacia cerebri.Autopsy examination of 68-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method.A well-dissected aneurysm specimen allowed assessment of the wall structure. Under the connective tissue capsule corresponding to the appendage numerous superimposed systems of vitreous and fibrous masses, lymphocytic infiltration, adjacent thrombi, and various intraluminal extravasations were seen. A niche of displaced hematoma with small circular hemorrhages was seen in the basal ganglia from below into the thalamus. In the putamen, a post-malacia focus was found, which had the character of a sterile, non-reactive abscess: a thin connective tissue capsule, with a cluster of numerous leukocytes in the center.
