Abstract:

The paper presents results of the analysis of agriculture in the European Union. Based on 15 key characteristics, member countries have been divided into groups consisting of countries with a similar condition of agriculture. As a research method the Grade Data Analysis has been applied, and to treat the data the Grade- Stat software has been used. The text is composed of four parts. The first part is a brief analysis of agriculture as a sector of the economy, while the second is dedicated to the measurement of the condition of agriculture. The third part presents the research tools: cluster analysis and Grade Data Analysis, and the fourth shows the results of using these tools for the assessment of EU agriculture.
