Abstract:

In the paper a new method supporting the evaluation of innovative research projects is presented. The projects considered are evaluated in respect to the estimated risk of success of realisation, to the costs needed for their realisation and to the financial benefits that are expected in the future. Some numerical algorithms and a computer program for the quantitative estimation of the above parameters are proposed. The method has been tested on the example of a real research project that has been realised in the waterworks in Rzeszów. The positive results reached from this exemplary application create the hope that the method could be used as a supporting tool by the evaluation and qualification of research projects that are considered in KBN (Scientific Research Ministry).
