Abstract:

The article is devoted to language stylization in pre-war cabaret szmonces. Accepting the linguistic perspective, the author analyzes inflectional phenomena, which became the linguistic canvas of szmonces: mistakesrelated to insufficient knowledge of Polish as well as internal and external interference (with the Yiddishlanguage). In cabaret texts, these means have both the identifying function (they point out to a J ewish character)and the genre-making function, they also serve to create a comic effect. The analysis of measuresused by the authors of szmonces is an extension and supplement to the study of the Polish language of Jewsin literary texts that Maria Brzezina conducted in the 1980s.
