Abstract:

Electron-microscopy analysis revealed a number of ultrastructural changes in the cardiomyocytes. Disorganization of myofibrils and in many areas its complete atrophy were observed. Mitochondria were characterized by a dark matrix. Lipofuscin deposits were visible(Fig. 1,2). Some cardiomyocytes nuclei were abnormally shaped, the nuclear envelope wasoften corrugated, with numerous indentations (Fig. 3). There was abundant connective tissuebetween the fibers (Fig. 4)
