Abstract:

The possibilities of oxidation of ferrous ions, sulphur, thiosulpate and sulphide minerals byautotrophic bacteria Thiobacillus ferrooxidans F26 - 77 and Thiobacillus thiooxidans T29 - 77 aswell as mixotrophic bacteria Svderocapsa sp. 26- 1(1) and SulfobaciUus sp. 26-9(1) were demonstrated. The mixtures of each ferrous ion oxidizing strain and Thiobacillus thiooxidans werenot more effective than the simple strains. The presence of ferrous ions stimulated the sulphuroxidizing activity of mixotrophic bacteria strains, especially of Svderocapsa sp. 26- 1(1).
