Abstract:

The possibility ofinduction ofsomatic embryogenesis in Polish and Chinesesoybean cultivars was studied. Cotyledons from immature embryos as explantswere used. Somatic embryos were obtained on MS medium with 40 mg I ' of2,4-D after 3-4 weeks of culture. Embryos appeared on 45,5% of Polan explantsand the highest average number ofsomatic embryos per explant - 29,2 was produced by cultivar Polan, too. The best development of somatic embryos wasobserved on the MS medium with 0,5 mg M KT and 0,5 mg M BA and next onthe hormone free medium with 60,0 g 1' ofsucrose and 0,5% activated charcoal.
