Muscle segment examination in light & electron microscopy

Abstract:

Ultrastructural analysis of the collected specimen showed the presence in the first type of mitochondrial fibers with an abnormal structure manifested by the loss of mitochondrial crests, the desolation of the mitochondrial interior, the appearance of mitochondrial structures within mitochondria. In type 2 single fibers also changes related to the mitochondrial interior. Conclusions: Suspected metabolic myopathy.
