Muscle segment examination in light microscopy

Abstract:

An 30-year-old patient with swelling and inflammation of the upper right limb was examined. Right forearm biopsy was performed. Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed that single muscle fibers were divided by a wide band of connective tissue into small bundles. Numerous, small mitochondria with electron dark matrix were seen. Swollen sarcoplasmic reticulum forming vacuoles were present.
