TY - GEN N1 - ill. ; 24 cm N2 - The article presents the folk residential development in Podhale region, through overview of the construc¬tion materials used, the techniques and construction solutions, as well as the most common decorative motifs. The author has used a classification of types of cottages in Podhale (due to the layout of the rooms and their functions) and types of farmsteads (depending on the number of buildings and their arrange¬ment within the farm). She has tried to show the changes in the Podhale development in the twentieth century.
