One of them is the change of population structures and the progressive aging of rural population. Growing share of elderly inhabitants is an unprecedented phenomenon. The author examines and evaluates changes in demographic structures at the level of statistical villages in Poland for the period of 1960‑2011. The research attempted to indicate possible scenarios of development for demographically ageing villages.
