In the seed bank of the successional ecosystem series the following phenomena have been found: (1) decrease in the number of seed and species, (2) increased seasonal stability of the numbers and species composition of seeds, (3) presence of all the species occurring in the phytocoenosis, and a similar list of dominants, (4) similar type of seed distribution in the soil. A significant influence has also been found of the vegetation structure on the seed rain to seed bank ratio, as well as a low germination percentage of seeds accumulated in the surface soil layer.}, title={Seed bank in old-field successional ecosystems}, type={Text}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/70714/PDF/WA058_87317_P2840-T34_Eko-Pol-A-Nr-1.pdf}, volume={34}, number={1}, journal={Ekologia Polska}, publisher={Polish Scientific Publishers}, keywords={size of seed bank, composition of seed bank, seed rain, old-field succession, spatial structure of seed bank}, }
