 abstract={In the light of deep spatial and functional transformations in the contemporary rural areas, retaining traditional forms and methods of management forming an important element of the countryside, cultural heritage seems to gain significance. More and more often inhabitants of rural municipalities, and in particular those situated in protected areas, grow traditional crops and raise traditional breeds of animals. Their activities contribute both to retaining biodiversity in the above-mentioned areas and protecting specific cultural landscape of the countryside. This paper aims to identify and indicate how traditional management methods influence retaining the natural and cultural values of the Lower Vistula Valley.},
