 abstract={The article discusses an early Neolithic stone axehead discovered in 2019 at the Mesolithic site of Bolków in Western Pomerania. The specimen was excavated in a layer radiocarbondated to between 7870±50 BP and 7280±40 BP. Taking into consideration paleotopographic features and stratified finds, the object would be more than 500 years older than the oldest assemblages of Wavy Band Pottery culture in Polish territories and central Europe as a whole, Like other finds of this type known from the territory of Germany (Bad Dürrenberg), the find constitutes palpable evidence of the earliest episodes of penetration of the northern parts of the European plain by early farming communities from southern Europe.},
