 abstract={The political system of ‘People’s Poland’ complies with a defi nition of a ‘monocen-tric system’ proposed by Stanisław Ossowski. The rulers deprived the citizens of their sub-jectivity, controlled them, and destroyed the values signifi cant to them. In response to that, some young people established underground organisations striving to change the political re-gime and preserve their freedom. The article verifi es the hypothesis: the youth undergrounds organisations were a form of political opposition in the monocentric system.},
